Conchas, orejas, empanadas filled with pineapple jam, donuts, arroz con leche, coffee …. I met Manolo 9 years ago, and every time that I go to his store, he has new delicious pastries that make me want to try them all!
Manuel “Manolo” Betancur, originally from Colombia, has been in the bakery industry for more than 10 years. In 2011, after the recession, Manolo acquired the family business “Las Delicias Bakery” and introduced delicious cakes, pastries, and desserts to complement the traditional Mexican sweet bread in the Charlotte region.
“The American Dream is still alive” That’s what Manolo always says when he’s talking about his background, the big effort he made to build his business, and how American and Latin people helped him to get connected and reach his goals.
In 2018 he started a new chapter of his business, getting into a rebranding to be called “Manolo’s Bakery”. Why? Because everyone knows Manolo!
For 2026, he plans to continue bringing service to his current regions (North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia), but also expand within other cities in NC.
